🔍 GENEALOGY SERVICES FAQ

1. What services do you offer?

We offer a range of genealogy services including:

  • Record searches (birth, death, marriage, census, tribal, etc.)

  • Full genealogy research

  • Family tree building

  • Document retrieval assistance

  • Consultations

  • Membership access to the Family Tree Builder

  • Archival and historical research assistance


2. How long does a record search take?

Most searches take 2–5 business days, depending on the type of record and how detailed the search is.


3. How long does full genealogy research take?

Full family tree research may take 2–6 weeks, depending on:

  • The number of generations

  • The availability of records

  • Whether authorization is required

  • The complexity of the family line


4. Are your services refundable?

No.
All payments are non-refundable, because research time and database access begin immediately once you submit your request.


5. Do you guarantee that you will find records?

No.
While we make every effort to find accurate records, we cannot guarantee outcomes because:

  • Some records no longer exist

  • Some are restricted by law

  • Names may be misspelled or changed

  • Records may be incomplete


📑 RECORD REQUEST FAQ

6. Why do some records require authorization?

State and federal laws restrict access to certain documents, such as:

  • Recent birth certificates

  • Recent death records

  • Adoption records

  • Certain tribal or government documents

If required, you will need to complete the Authorization Form and submit identification.


7. What documents can I request?

You may request:

  • Birth certificates

  • Death certificates

  • Marriage or divorce records

  • Tribal/Indigenous rolls

  • Census records

  • Cemetery or burial records

  • Historical documents

Official certificates may require state fees.


8. Do you handle the purchase of official certificates?

We can assist with the process, but state government fees are separate from our service fees.
You will always be informed before any additional payment is required.


🌳 FAMILY TREE BUILDER FAQ

9. Do I need a membership to use the Family Tree Builder?

Yes.
A membership login is required to access, save, and download your family tree.


10. How do I add people to my tree?

Click “Add Person” and enter:

  • Name

  • Relationship

  • Any notes or important details

You can add as many people as needed.


11. Can I move boxes around?

Yes.

  • On desktop: click and drag

  • On mobile: hold and slide slowly for smoother movement


12. How do I save my tree?

Use the “Save Tree” button at the top.
Your tree will be stored securely in your account.

To reload your saved tree, click “Load Tree.”


13. Can I download my tree?

Yes.
You can download your tree as:

  • PNG (image)

  • PDF (document)

This allows easy printing and sharing.


🔐 ACCOUNT & MEMBERSHIP FAQ

14. How do I reset my password?

Use the “Forgot Password” link on the login page.
You will receive a reset email.


15. Can I share my membership with someone else?

No.
Memberships are for individual use only to protect privacy and data security.


16. Can I cancel my membership?

Yes, you may cancel anytime.
However, no refunds are issued for previous payments.

You will retain access until your billing period ends.

17. Is my information kept private?

Yes.
We do not sell, share, or release your information.

Your data is used solely for:

  • genealogy research

  • family tree building

  • your service requests


18. Is my family tree public?

No.
Your family tree is private and visible only to you when logged in.


19. Do you verify the accuracy of my tree?

No.
Your family tree is based on the information you enter.
We do not verify or edit your personal entries unless you hire us for full research.
